Westcountry Ultra flat 50..... A bit more

I don't think I said enough good things about this race, so here's just a little bit more.
As I said, low key, friendly, relaxed. The weather this year was beautiful, which made this an idyllic run.

The organisers were brilliant - they answered any queries I had immediately, and sounded genuinely happy to be arranging this running event for people, thank you Albion running. I loved the fact that they gave you a food goody bag at the end, and happily munched on peanut butter sandwiches which I think may have been prepared but the race organisers' family themselves. Perfect.

I completed 53 miles in approx 11.12ish, very pleased with this. Glad these legs can still go the distance on occasion.

West country Ultra flat 50

Just returned from a 50 miler in Somerset, the West Country 'flat' 50....they say flat, um... There were hills: they say 50,um more like 53.
But a lovely race, partially marked, and scenic to boot. Low key and informal - sometimes these races are the best. Certainly good training.

I have every sympathy for the runners who continued on to the 100,some of them will still be going when I go into work tomorrow. And I'm on a late shift. Ouch.
