And there we go...

And there we go, the relief is in the finish line

Manchester Marathon 2018

Today was the Manchester marathon, and a perfect running day. Overcast, cool, and unusually for Manchester - no rain. It's a decent flat route through south Manchester, and lovely in terms of the fact that it's a local race.
I enjoyed racing, the crowds, and the atmosphere of a big racing event. Am thrilled with my finishing time of just under 3:53: nowhere near a pb, but faster than I had hoped for. Thank you Manchester.

Always inspiring

I am truly in awe of the expeditions and experiences that Sir Ranulph Fiennes has undertaken.... He is my biggest hero in the Endurance world.

Without running ?

I had been thinking, recently, what life would be like without running in it. More specifically what I would be like, without running.

Training and participating literally encompasses huge chunks of time, socialising, and personal goals. And I love it all. Without this obsession, I would be a reasonable Mum (I hope):, a reasonable nurse: and probably a more sociable friend. Certainly the house would be alot tidier.

But, I am certain, without running - my idiosyncratic 'thing'- I would feel a bit less remarkable. All these activities, events, dreams,: it gives a twist, a different conversation, some interesting and exciting focal points for the time ahead. Remarkable indeed.

So, think about it. This begs the question: what do YOU do, that makes you feel that little bit more remarkable ? Everyone has something.

So good to hit the trails after the bad weather and injury. Fresh air, mud, drizzle.. It's all good
