Arrived in the lakes to start preparing for tomorrow's race. Stunning. Very hot, it's going to

be a hot race I think. How lucky to be here.

Lakeland trails 100k

Next week, I get to go up to Ambleside for this year's Lakeland Trail 100 k event. I completed this a few years ago, and really enjoyed it. A midnight start makes it quite special: the opportunity to run in the Lakes cannot be missed. Very excited to be going, and hit the trails and hills.

Peak District Air

There is hardly anyone about. Quiet, still, peaceful, fresh. The reservoirs are quite low at the moment. This is supreme trail running training. I cannot bottle this running happiness.

Sweaty reps

Due to various circumstances, racing plans for this weekend went pear shaped. Nevermind, focus on the next one.

Instead, Rivington Pike beckoned with an attempt at some hill reps.
Trying to
A) not destroy people's quiet Sunday walks by running up behind them and scaring them
B) not trip over any dogs having their Sunday walks and playtime
C) not crash into any of the mountain bikers enjoying some speedy hillwork themselves
D) not fall over and look an absolute idiot in front of all these pleasant people.

All in all, a very fun trail run.
